@gloriousblobber9647 You sound confused. If we take that Syrian conflict started at 2011 and Ukrainian one in 2014 - they are 3 years apart. You are trying to strawmen here, putting words in my mouths as if I was arguing that the Ukrainian conflict started in 2022. I'm well aware that the mess of Ukrainian civil war had started with illegal coup that put forces and region loyal to the last legitimate president at odds with the western regions, with ensuing massacres of the former like the one in Odessa.
Now, regarding the "ceasefire", there was no such a thing. There were hot and cold stage, sure, but that was due to logistics and sides preparing their troops better. Syrian civil war had lost of extremest (that would not tolerate ceasefires) participating in as well as Ukrainian one (in fact, Russian government was pretty glad that most of it's extremest went there in 2014, cause that significantly eased up situation inside of Russia with, for example, pro-monarchist groups effectively eradicating themselves in the process of fighting for Donbass)
Finally, mind if I remind you that when you argue that SMO was a failure of supposed 3 days operation - you sorta omit that Ukrainian ATO was claimed to succeed in 48 hours according to Ukrainian officials in 2014 (while no Russian official confirmed 3 days timetable.. in the context of not using nukes while at it, that is) and failed even more miserably.
