@fireandblood8142 To be fair, military geniousness of Napoleon was ovrehyperd.. by Napoleon's controlled papers\media. He was one of the first rulers to actively use state's propaganda machine for his own benefit (which was sorta required since Revolution was quick to dispose of it's leaders with the swings of public opinion). For example, his horrendous fiasco at Egypt with leaving his troops to die (not so different from how Russian campaign ended) was quickly swept under the rug and every arheologist\scientist participating in that compaign - was not allowed to speak any bad word about Napoleon's leadership.

@fireandblood8142 he may have lost many more and memory of such is erased form the history by his propagana machine. Furthermore, part of his sucess in battles can be attributed to the officer corp shaped by meritocracy system due to Revolution, in comparison to the corrupt aristocratic superiority in the armies of other nations at the time. Then again, all those brilliant minds that he gave out coutnries to here and there to ensure loyaty of such.. abandoning him in his most troubled time - is quite telling. They knew him well, so they didn't aid him when having a freedom of choice. Turns out that bribes by corrupt italian only get you so far.

@liamjm9278 you'd better learn the battles of coalition, my dude, they were indeed weaker united. For example, a few members of conflicting sides wore pretty similiar uniform that constantly led to friendly-fire and constant bickering who must be in charge delayed important orders to be made. ' Furthermore, Napoleon's sucess partially lays in the destruction of future generations of French by his own hands through introducing new concept of conscription, that for sure made his army enourmous... and turned vilages into ghost towns cause there was no one left after his numerous wars. Couple that with him abandoning troops if he was anywhere near defeat and here you go, a premise for annihilation that he met iin Russia. The French state crumbled on itself, not able to sustain Napoleon's losses in manpower and new subjects weren't loyal or unified to back him up either. Now, if he would be a good ruler that wouldn't be an issue, but he wasn't either so there's that.

@liamjm9278 yes, it would be and that exaclty what happened. His main force was busy dying in Russia while his additional forces were unable to take control over Spain. Russia was only partially reason of his demise, not finishing a job in Spain was the other one.

@neurofiedyamato8763 salty of what exactly? Of his megalomania and tendency to over-exagerate his contribution both in battles and politics? Of effectiveness of propaganda machine built by him? As a national leader he wrecked the future of his country, riding on the guiliotine train and eradicating all the opposition only to then eradicate new generation of young men by conrsiption practice. One man is not repsonsible for solifidying legal system - unnamed lawyers are, whose contribution he stole making himself the centre of the picture, as he always did.
