All agricultural produce shifted north > south. Rye replaced wheat, and spring vegges became summer veggies. Adaptation to circumstances took place during many centuries. Nothing new. But the speed in which it is happening now and where it will lead to, should be a reason to worry.

@sorinclenci1691 Those changes took place over centuries, we are dealing with a change in decades. And with this change we do not know where it will end. Major differences!

@NullHand Maybe... But that doesn't explain the warmer time in the Middle Ages compared to Roman times. So it got warmer and warmer up to 1100 and stayed that way until 1400, and went colder, slow but than relatively fast, with a climax around 1600, warmer again slowly until 1750 and than stable until 1900. So there have been several changes and times of stability in between.

Through time agriculture and produce have moved south <> north constantly. In the Middle Ages the north was warmer but it cooled down around 1500, and around 1600 experienced an 'ice age', which slowly turned around 1750 to normal again. Adaptation and switching is quite normal. But we have to do everything to make it slow in a way these adjustments can take place. Looking forward to pineapples and bananas from Spain, and Danish wine.

@JeroenJA The best champagne would come from Belgium again, the south east of the Netherlands and the part of Germany just across the border, because of the chalky soil. But that is exactly the area where the floods of previous summer were.

@JeroenJA The Ahntal in Germany is still in ruins, not only soil was washed away, houses and infrastructure too.
