@ionc5319 Correct! Stealing is taking someones ideas and concepts, perfecting it and realizing it, before the source knows how good it was.
Copying is producing the same without understanding what the idea behind it was, and in this way loosing the essence and spirit of the original.
Mies van der Rohe is a very good example of an architect that has been copied, glass and metal facades appear everywhere, but nobody can produce anything that looks good, well proportioned, and in balance as he did.
Awful lookalikes, without soul.
On the other hand Mies van der Rohe 'stole' ideas and concepts from Gerrit Rietveld, made them his own and brought them to perfection, where you can still feel it was inspired by him, though Rietveld himself did not reach that level.
