@Athena621 These things only ever go one way, didn't you know?

Funny, that.

It's all about taking things away from wht people, that's why.
2
We can hope.
2
Anyone with any sense is. Disney/Marvel/Star Wars, it's all gone to shit.

@Charliegirl Yes, seems cultural appropriation is OK when they do it. Another thing to add to the list of things that are fine, unless it's whites doing it... Like in-group preference, for example.

I wish I had one to scoff. ;)

@dragonforks93 Yet in our majority white country, bk people are MASSIVELY overrepresented on our screens, with representations of bk male/wht female relationships in particular massively overrepresented. Mixed-race children are also massively overrepresented on screens. It's almost as if someone with an agenda is deliberately trying to convince wht women to go with, and raise kids with bk men, isn't it? As if someone wanted wht people bred out of existence, even.

They've already planned a remake of Snow White with a dark-skinned South American girl in the lead role, actually.
1
@Wherethereisnodarkness lol... Are you really dim enough to ask that?

Myths and legends are an important part of our culture. It's not OK for them to appropriate our culture like this. They wouldn't do it to any other group.
1
I hope you're right, but the people pushing this have VERY deep pockets and are hell-bent on white erasure, in the real world as well as on-screen.
1
They've done it to loads of characters. It stinks.

Myths and legends are important parts of our culture... If wht people appropriated bk people's myths and legends they would be up in arms about it, calling it "cultural appropriation", yet when they do it, it's fine, apparently. The dual standards and hypocrisy are disgusting. They also get furious when white voice actors voice non-white characters in animated films, programmes, audio dramas and games, yet there are many white characters being voiced by non-white voice actors. It's the dual standards that piss people off, dismissing it as people getting annoyed about "mythical creatures" is facile and stupid.
1
It's more important than you think. It's all part of a deliberate campaign to undermine us. Chiselling away at our culture is part of a bigger plan by people that hate us.
1
Exactly. Little white girls and boys need characters they can identify with too. Of course, the people in favour of blackwashing historically white characters from history, fiction, myth and legend claim that white people who then don't identify with blackwashed characters are "racist". The same people then go on to denounce cultural appropriation and claim that it's important to give people "representation" (unless they're white of course). The hypocrisy and dual standards around all this are simply disgusting.
1
So what? Nothing like Hans Christian's little mermaid though. Cultural appropriation... Seems like it's fine when THEY do it.
1
They're already remaking Snow White with a dark-skinned South American girl in the title role, actually.
1
They've done it with many characters lately, it's always wht characters turning bk. There would be uproar if it was the other way but it seems it's OK when it's our culture being appropriated.

Muscle memory is different to coordination, actually.
1
@daniel riddell Yes it is. Muscle memory is the term for learned, repeated actions, that become routine almost without conscious thought, such as drawing a bow in archery, while coordination is fine, conscious muscle control and awareness of the positions of parts of the body. Not the same things at all.
