@jgmediting7770 Their "wokeness" is a major factor in the crapness of the show though. It's hard to tell compelling, exciting stories when your main driver is slotting in woke lectures and diatribes that stick out like a sore thumb, or bending narratives or plots so you can shoehorn in characters of the minority you want to patronise this week. Starting out with an issue or a point you want to hammer home to the viewers then trying to write a story around that is likely to fail, without serious writing talent, and they clearly don't have that. I admit, it is possible to write crap stories without being woke, though.

@bloodhound9638 Not sure what the point of your second comment is... It doesn't seem relevant. Formulaic comedy can get boring and old after a while, but satirical comedy has to comment on current affairs and can do so from a left-wing, centre, or right-wing viewpoint.

Lots of people are apparently "successful" while having little or no discernible talent. The BBC frequently patronises untalented people, and causes them to appear successful, but they are patronised because of their skin colour, politics, sexuality, or some other woke criteria, not talent. It's despicable and the collapse of the public's regard for the BBC speaks volumes.

I merely pointed out that, thanks to the BBC, there are many that are gifted "success" despite having little or no discernible talent, so your snide dig at Andrew for not being a "success" is meaningless.

I was aware of Jodie Whitaker before she was in Doctor Who, but my contention, that untalented people are often granted success by the BBC for their own reasons, was nothing to do with her in any case. For what it's worth, I think she is a good actor, though she was miscast and misjudged her portrayal of The Doctor. She was about the only good thing about "Attack the Block" apart from the creature design and effects. As I've already said, your snide dig at Andrew in the first place was misjudged, since undeserving people are often granted success by the BBC. Why do you find this difficult to understand? Andrew isn't "hating on Jodie to appear relevant", he has pointed out that there are various faults with Dr. Who as it is now, and judging by the number of people that agree with him, and the programme's abysmal ratings, a great many agree with him. Give up, your original point was specious and you have said nothing since to rectify that. You've made unfounded assumptions and failed to argue your case cogently.

They are purposely trying to destroy Who, or at least make it unwatchable for fans who have loved it for decades. They've done the same with Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel, Robin Hood, Merlin, King Arthur, Sherlock Holmes, various other franchises and properties, most recently He-man was revived with a woke twist that saw He-man killed and replaced with a butch woman. It's all about taking things away from the kind of fan that they don't like, IE white males. The proof is that it's almost always previously white male characters that get race-swapped, gender-swapped, or even killed off altogether. This is done deliberately to disenfranchise, demoralise and depress people they dislike, and especially to rob male viewers of hero figures.

It wasn't a mistake as such, it was a deliberate attack on a well-loved character. Leaked e-mails from the writing team revealed that they had an agenda to take the character away from male fans, it was done deliberately in the knowledge that many fans would hate it.

There's a difference between lower ratings and a drop of what, a bit over 50%? Also, the BBC's figures include streaming viewings via Iplayer, so your comment looks like bollocks. I can see a bell-end here, and it isn't Andrew. XD
