  8. ​@Pedant_Patrol You have a limited knowledge of history, it seems. Barbary pirates were still abducting and enslaving Europeans and others well into the 19th century, so was the Ottoman empire. Slavery is still endemic in the Arab world and Africa today.

  10. As serfs, we were practically slaves for the "nobles", and the Normans too. People forced into Workhouses just to survive were practically slaves in many cases too.
