Exactly. They're only ever slotted in as heroes or role models, never as villains, which proves there is an agenda behind this.

It's not just about pandering to them though, it's also about cutting us off from our own heritage.

Excellent comment, Jontwest. I understood the point you are making. It's amusing that someone else failed to get it. Again.

It's more sinister than many want to admit.
7
That was utterly risible, wasn't it? Was the character also depicted with an English wife or girlfriend?

@PaIaeoCIive1684 Well said.

Like a great many things these days, there's a clear dual standard about that.

@deankirby7237 It's not just that, in fact it's much worse.

@david1964. Sad retort. You fail, yet again.

@david1964. No, just doing the best you can manage. Sad.

I would say "nationalist" rather than patriotic, which is a good thing.

True. Lenny Henry's recent failure proves it.

@iancarrington1967 Well said. I'd call it "gaslighting" and "revisionism" too.

Fiction also informs our view of the past though, so slotting them into fictional roles in real historical settings, or even fantasy based on European mythology (ie LOTR etc.) is also wrong as it is part of our culture, and was not intended by its originators to include them.
1
Well said! It's far more pernicious than people realise and it's done out of malice for us, rather than regard for them.

@richard7586 There are "drama-docmentaries" about real-life crime cases where they have cast actors of other ethnicities in the roles of the investigating officers, people who were Euro in real life. They don't miss a trick.

More important to those working to erase us, certainly.
1
A series about the myriad Europeans enslaved by others over many hundreds of years would be good... But it would detract from the narrative they're pushing that we're always "the baddie" so it won't happen.
1
Exactly.
1
It's more sinister than that. It's not just about patronising them but about erasing us.
