Of course, the tuition is not really "free", it's funded by all the other students. We pay, and pay, and pay for these people. No wonder the nation's struggling.

There are many bursaries available exclusively to b students. Someone tried to set up a bursary exclusively for poor w students recently, but they were refused.

Your experience mirrors my own. My secondary school failed me, I left school at fifteen and started my first job well before my sixteenth birthday, but went on to study various o-levels while working full time, and later went to University. I suspect many people are similarly failed by poor state schools that fail to identify various aptitudes and strengths they have.

Ironically, your comment bears out what Simon said. Attending university is no longer about ability. Do try to keep up, old chap.

You assume that the aim is for society as a whole to progress and succeed. If, however, the aim is to corrode and damage that society, quotas such as you describe will be very helpful.

You probably have aptitudes that many graduates lack. There are many different kinds of intelligence. Don't put yourself down.
