  1. ​@Spludgeroo Not equivalent, since you'll expect the state to support you, should you be injured in an accident. Without a safety belt, your injuries will likely be much worse than they would have been had you been wearing a safety belt, so the costs of your healthcare and rehabilitation will be much higher and they'll be borne by everyone who pays into National Insurance. If you're going to somehow eschew NHS care altogether and pay all your medical bills completely by yourself, you can have the right to not wear the belt.
