@normansidey5258 You can be black and be a British citizen, but you can't be black and English. English is one of several ethnicities that make up the peoples of Britain and ethnicity is an immutable characteristic, it's not something that a person can change based on where they choose to live, it comes from ancestry. Of course, people can be mixed heritage when their ancestry comes from people of different ethnicities, but for now, someone like David Lammy cannot be English.
