  2. They've already rewritten that. They've omitted the facts that more white people were enslaved by the Ottomans, Berbers and Arabs than white people ever took from Africa. They've omitted the fact that Africans, Arabs and the other people were all complicit in the slave trade, so that only whites are made to feel guilty about it. They also avoid talking about the fact that it was Britain that effectively put an end to the slave trade, outside Africa and the Middle East at any rate.

  9. They may be consciously forgotten, but the idea that Britain has always been diverse will seep into the national consciousness, which is what they want. This is more dangerous than you realise. It is corrosive and intended to disconnect us from our own history, to disenfranchise us, to damage our connection to our fellow people, our nation.

Fictional characters are manifestations of our culture and heritage, and go on to inform and shape our culture, so race-swapping them is also evil. It's theft, and it has the added effect of disenfranchising us from our culture and creating a sense of entitlement in the invaders, whether fiction or not,.

  14. The BBC's last attempt (2006) at retelling the old English legend of Robin Hood had Robin ditching his English Longbow for a Tartar Horse Bow, Friar Tuck being portrayed by a black actor and a Muslim woman joining the "Band of Merry Men". It was a disgusting travesty of English folklore.

  15. People think that fictional, even mythical and legendary characters are fair game for blackwashing, but I feel it is just as unacceptable. These characters are part of our culture and they inform our perception of the past, real or not. Blackwashing King Arthur, David Copperfield, Sir Gawain, Friar Tuck, The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, and Alice in Wonderland, as have all been recently, isevil, it's theft, designed to disenfranchise us, to disconnect us from our own culture, our heritage and our history.
