They've also made a TV series about King Arthur where Arthur was portrayed by a non-white actor, and a film of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight where Gawain was played by the same actor who played Copperfield in the film you mention. Also, Peter Pan, Lewis Carroll's Alice, Hans Christian Andersen's "Little Mermaid", Friar Tuck, Achilles, and numerous other characters from European mythology and fiction have been race-swapped. Snow White is soon to be portrayed by an actress of South American heritage. Why is it that characters from our mythology, our fiction and our heritage are fair game for race-swapping, and only ours? Wht actors are not even allowed to voice non-white characters in audio dramas, animations and video games any more, but it's fine for non-white actors to be slotted in to myths and fictions that are part of European heritage and culture. Cultural appropriation is yet another rule that is applied selectively to disadvantage white people, it seems.
