  4. Not sure Simon's right on this one. My English parents ran a shop selling meats, bread, groceries, sweets, tea, coffee, etc. throughout the seventies and early eighties. The shop opened seven days a week, and apart from Wednesdays and Sundays when they closed at lunchtime, they stayed open until seven or eight o'clock in the evening. Another shop on the row, a "convenience store" run by Mr. Cox, also white, opened similar hours.
