  4.  @salmaabdullahgb  He's a British citizen, but not British. To be British, he'd have to be ethnically English, Welsh, Scottish or Irish. Being British, and being a British citizen are not necessarily the same.

  14. None of those people, with the possible exception of Ben Kingsley, would ever be considered "English" by anyone who knows what "English" means. English is an ethnicity, not a nationality, it can't be conferred on anyone like a passport can, and simply living here, or being born here to foreign parents cannot confer Englishness on anyone.
