Just check out the Boogaloo Bois and Kyle Rittenhouse among many others. Not to mention the police response was almost always to escalate the situation as much as possible. Just look at the way police reacted in the Capitol insurrection vs the BLM protests. Rioters actually killing cops and they just say "oh... well... can you please go home when you are done?" vs. "hey, there are people protesting against cops publicly murdering people, lets get the pepper spray and batons ready and beat some people into submission until they know they are not allowed to protest." Just check out the police reaction to the death of that violin playing black kid. People standing 6 ft apart wearing masks playing violin or watching the vigil and cops come and literally attack them all for no reason.

Plus making healthcare universal would be a huge boon for corporations/businesses since they would no longer have to foot the bill. Fuck, even Cuba has better healthcare than the US.

  20.  @eh5872  If a person makes 21k a year they do not qualify for Medicaid. You think 21k a year is not low pay? How is somebody supposed to pay for housing, food, medical care etc. on 21k a year?! What if they have a kid!! Fuck kids right! Bootstraps for everyone! I just looked it up. Medicaid only covers children and adults with income below 133% of the Federal Poverty Level. Do you know what the poverty level is? It's 13.5k for an individual and like 22k for a family of 4!!!!!!! (Some states may cover slightly more, I also live in Michigan hence why I know anyone making over 20k gets the boot).

Or, you can go to Florida and run down anyone who is protesting with your car, or become a cop and start murdering minorities capriciously, hell, you can even get away scott free for trying to overthrow democracy just cause you don't like peoples opinions. If you are part of a big corporation like Nestle or Cargil you can even own child slaves and force them into manual labor all day long with zero consequences because nobody can prove that you made the decision to kidnap and enslave children while on US soil. Yes, Dave, absurd freedoms indeed. Let's not forget about all the freedoms the government uses to keep us "safe" and overthrow/destabilize other countries or the freedom to wage war on others for literally no reason.

  23. To be fair there's really no way anyone would know unless they actively searched for it but most people don't know the terminology anyways. Not like we are ever taught this stuff in school. And most websites do not explain it well and in fact actually imply that it is a flat rate per all your income and not a marginal rate. I'm glad the IRS updated their site though, I'm pretty sure it wasn't explained like that a few years ago when I tried searching to understand it.

Also, not everyone gets pell grants. And they don't just pay for your schooling. You lie by omission. Nobody making 17k a year can afford to pay for their own schooling and pell grants are not going to cover it.

  30. The US health system is a nightmare and even if abortion is legal but must be medically necessary, still adds to the horror. I work for an insurance company and they deem cancer patients radiation as "not medically necessary" because it allows them to get out of paying for people's expensive treatments. Same goes for abortion. And insurance companies, even in emergency situations, usually have a period of 48 hours to respond to doctors evidence to get a determination of whether a procedure is allowed and is deemed medically necessary. Doctors in an emergency situation like this do not have the luxury of hoping the insurance company or a court will be reasonable and recognize medical necessity.

Increasing tax on something that helps the environment while not increasing tax on the thing causing most of the damage is a stupid way of (not) solving any problem. The infrastructure bill would allocate money to roads. Also, we could tax the oil companies which seem to have plenty of extra money floating around since they spend hundreds of millions of dollars every year on lobbying congress to suppress they detractors (and reality).

  39. They probably do that on purpose to increase medical errors and increase profits even more. If a medical error is made not only was that an unnecessary treatment that they can bill for, but now you have to treat the first treatment cause you fucked up, now you got at least 2 extra income streams from thin air and malpractice insurance will cover any damage done if it's ever even found out about to begin with.
