@bawar112 Showing that the bible supports slavery and child rape does NOT mean that the Koran is great and benevolent. That's ridiculous. They both promote hate, murder, tribalism, fear, etc.

If you think Christianity has been a force of "tremendous good" then you've obviously not done your homework. That's just laughably absurd. Tell that to all the slaves of history, the Jews, anyone purged by the crusades/inquisition, anyone who is homosexual, pretty much all terrorist groups are founded on religious principles, almost all cults are founded by religious principles, mother Teresa was a monster who enriched herself by watching and condemning others to death to spread evil, etc, etc.

Politics uses ignorant religious followers just as religious leaders use politicians to further their own control and spread their religious indoctrination. It's like the most studied thing in all of history. Also, yes, most (or at least many) religious people DO believe in a literal afterlife, I know many myself. Only these newage (younger) spiritual people would think as Brand does here.
