  1. Atheism isn't an identification, it's the lack of an identification. Just like I don't identify as a non-stamp collector. It's the same as you NOT being an Islamic fundamentalist. You don't go around saying "I'm a non-Islamic fundamentalist. Cause that's ridiculous. Sure, I agree, complex problems are bigger than just one book. But, when all the people involved point to that one book as their source of identity and ethics..... It's a huge part of the problem. Just look at the history of the Church!!! Religion is just a fulcrum used as leverage to introduce superstitions and illogical ideas into people minds to influence them. I agree with you about torture. It's bad and there are better ways to do things. Harris sounds wrong there. Sam Harris doesn't advocate for racism against Islamic people. He is constantly misunderstood on that topic. It's like saying that you shouldn't treat Nazi's any different even though they choose to believe that garbage. It's no different than people who point to the Bible or the Koran and say "look, it says here I can beat my slave as long as they don't die", or "it's okay to rape, kill or enslave children if they are foreigners". (all things the bible supports by the way) Why should we not look at people who support that as being possibly dangerous to society?
