  1. Social Security and Medicare are NOT government spending. The republicans keep framing it like it's just money being printed. We pay into those every day our whole lives. And Reagan was the one who cut social security the first time in 1983, also adding a tax to it if you work and cutting taxes for the rich. Tax the poor give it to the rich, that's the republican motto.

  2. Reagan raised the retirement age back in 1983. Look it up. He also added the extra tax to social security for people that work while collecting social security if they make over some tiny amount (like $23k I think). So he raised taxes on poor working folks and cut taxes on the rich all while cutting benefits for those who paid into the system their whole lives.
