This is very clearly a literal interview. This banker is interviewing the republican for a position on his donor list and hence a position in the US government.

Too soon? We literally know exactly why it failed. What's there to find out? They put all their money in bonds right before the FED raised interest rates at the fastest pace in 40 years, people wanted their money out, they had to sell the bonds at a loss, everybody panicked and it collapsed completely. This exact situation would have been avoided had Trump not deregulated them so they could purposely do this exact thing and take enormous risk with everyone's money. When someone dies of a gunshot wound do we say, "it's too soon to find out what killed them, let's wait 5 years"? These bankers should all be in prison for crimes against humanity.
