  1. He thinks that since technology and science have advanced we must all be better off than our grandparents. Sure, maybe if you need a new procedure done and have enough capital to fund it. Or if you want to know more ways we are destroying the planet and our own health, sure. But if you are talking about financial well being..... nope. No comparison. Just read any biography from the 70's and you'll see that anyone could work a summer job and earn enough to pay for their schooling that year, rent and food, vacation, and also buy a car. I couldn't do that working all year long living with my parents, eating only ramen and forgoing the vacation! That's a huge difference.
