  1. Investing social security, which is supposed to be retirement insurance, into the stock market and giving all that money to wall street to play with is the most insane idea ever. What if they 2008 us again? We also just have the 2nd and 3rd largest bank failures in history this year so what if they were controlling that money? How will retirees that rely on that money survive when the fund goes bankrupt because wallstreet squandered it paying themselves executive bonuses and then crashed the market by 60% again? The whole point is that social security is not there to make speculative investments but as an insurance policy that will 100% be reliable income. If people have extra money and want to put it in the stock market that's great but is a completely different idea.

Guess everyone that got cancer or in a car accident or endless other issues should have thought of that before they got sick and then fired from their jobs because of not being able to work while dying and then going bankrupt because of losing their health insurance because of the whole not having a job thing and then losing their house because of the previous things I just mentioned and oh look it's 2008 so lets give wall street another trillion while you die on the street after we fire you to "cut costs".
