  1. Federal poverty stats are miscalculated just like the unemployment and inflation stats. Federal poverty line is like $15k! So if you make $16k/year you are not considered in poverty. Unemployment-wise we are almost at great depression levels if you include people that have given up looking for jobs and people working part time jobs that can't find full time jobs.
