  1. waiving the IP rights temporarily would have literally zero negative impact on vaccines in the US. All it does is allow other companies (including those in the US) to produce vaccines instead of right now, where only a couple of companies are making the entire supply for the world. This would mean that more companies in the US would also be able to manufacture the vaccines. Hence it's a win win for everybody.
