It's still better than meat healthwise. There's no cholesterol, heme iron, Neu5Gc, isn't on the WHO cancer list like other meat, etc. And best of all it doesn't mean the torture of animals in horrendous factory farms which also contribute significantly to climate change, dead zones, species extinction, habitat loss, deforestation, etc.
Meat substitutes like this one are literally made to be similar to meat in fat and protein content. Which is why this one has saturated fat. But that's not required. Nobody is advocating for eating this everyday, it's marketed as an alternative for meat, which the overwhelming preponderance of evidence shows is unhealthy. (not to mention processed)
The article you quote at 5:23 "why the Left eat junk" is just the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a while. As if the right don't eat junk. The article is clearly right wing propaganda.
I do agree with the sentiment that it's still capitalism and big business but I think anything to wake people up to the reality of climate change and animal agriculture is at least better than what we are doing now.
(It's like the equivalent of voting for Biden only because Trump represents authoritarianism.)
