I had a coworker that got a rash all over when she was unboxing shirts that was bad enough that she had go home sick and go to the doctor. I don't remember exactly what happened to the shirts, if they marked them all as "damaged" for the tax write off or what but it was a pretty immediate reaction. This was like 8 or so years ago now. They definitely put all sorts of chemicals on/in the clothes, often you can smell the fumes wafting off them when you break the seal on the plastic packaging.

Coworker's rash went away after a few days and it was not nearly as horrible sounding as blistering but still alarming. Why are we allowing this? Oh yeah, cause the US is a corporatocracy.
