A person who only earns 30k a year has to use most of that money for food, clothing, shelter etc. Whereas a billionaire being taxed even 80% will still have money left over to put billions in the stock market with no worrying about how he's going to survive or pay his medical debt. Look up Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Everyone has to pay for needs first which is a lot higher % of a poor persons income that it is for a rich person. Imagine taxing the starving child in Africa with no parents and saying that that is the same as taxing a billionaire! Your position is absolutely insane. "Ah, no money kid, we will take half of every piece of food you find in the garbage to survive then." No. The less you have, the more precious it is, and the more you actually need it.

  41. Yeah, that's an insane fact. I've had one full time and one part time job for the past 2 or so years and that's no fun. I'm burnt out as hell and start snapping at people who push my buttons whereas previously I wouldn't have. Also can't afford to pay for anything with 2 jobs so wtf is the point. And if I make anymore money I'll have my healthcare taken away and then have to pay extravagant sums for a private plan after paying taxes on that money. So realistically I'd be making less money and have more bills if I work harder. Our system makes no sense.

  48. Yeah that's just an excuse they use. There's is literally a law protecting entities from liability for donated food. The usual example is with grocery stores, even though they feign ignorance of the laws existence too. The law is called the Good Samaritan and protects the donation to nonprofit organizations and those nonprofits that distribute the food. (Although to be covered it sounds like it would have to be an actual registered nonprofit or foodbank)
