  2. Yes M4A would be a program that is free for most regular things like a doc visit, with a small charge for other treatments. (although I believe paid for by tax money) While Medicare that we currently have does indeed have premiums and does pretty much work the same as regular insurance minus the extra 20% for profit margins. Well, except now most medicare plans are becoming privatized, which is what medicare advantage plans are, but since they are still paid for by the peoples Medicare premiums the government has to throw in/charge people that extra money for profits and dividends for shareholders. But also people on Medicare that don't make enough money can qualify for a LIS (low income subsidy) to have either some or all of their medicare premiums paid for by the government. So if you are poor it really is paid for but all medicare plans still have copays that you have to pay when getting surgery or specialist visit or whatnot. Learning how it works is literally a multi-month long process at 8 hours a day. It's that fucked up. We seriously just need a system where everybody pays a little bit more taxes and then nobody has to pay for, or very little for, treatments or visits or drugs like almost every country has.
