  1. I'm so sick of hearing these idiot republicans say "energy independence" in reference to oil. International markets and corporations literally do not work that way. The only way we could have oil energy independence is if the government took over all oil companies and made them state owned and banned exporting oil. As it currently stands exon mobile takes oil out of the ground and sells it on the international market meaning the only way to have energy independence is to get rid of oil and use 100% renewable energy based on nuclear, solar, wind, geothermal, etc. Because energy from the sun cannot be sold to Korea or Germany or anywhere else, it can only be used in the local area. Thereby giving any area connected to that local grid energy independence.
