@Dani-kq6qq Those situations are completely different. African sanctions were to end apartheid which was a government policy. They weren't invading another country and they weren't a nuclear power and sanctioning them didn't primarily hurt the citizens since they didn't have any rights in the first place. There was no risk of WWIII by sanctioning Africa. Sanctioning Israel would be similar. You think Israel would turn against the US (we give them lots of money and weapons) and NATO? That's insane. (not that the US would even contemplate sanctioning Israel anyways so it's kinda a moot point.)

@JC-mf9iq But the US has literally done MAX sanctions (never before done in the history of the world) and it hasn't done anything... so you're point of "what if the didn't work" .... we'll, we've done max sanctions and it didn't work so the only difference between all sanctions and targeted sanctions, is harming the Russian civilians or not harming the Russian civilians it seems. Our sanctions often times have the opposite effect intended. Which must be taken into consideration as well. One thing the US is very good at is radicalizing people to keep forever wars going.
