This should be a whole series. Plenty more to say about this topic. And how the US was founded on business interests, people be damned. Anything for the rich to make more money. Also, you should do a video about Haiti and Papa Doc who oddly went to medical school in my home state of Michigan and then became the insane dictator of Haiti and did all kinds of horribleness there.

um 15 years ago was 2008.

@Ben21756 If someone came to your house and murdered half your family and then said half your house was theirs because the British (and the west) said so would you propose a counter offer? Or would you find that absurd and fight back?

Except that the executives all sold their stock in the month(s) or so before the collapse.

Damn this was a well researched video. We all know Assange, Manning and Snowden are hero's for what they've done.

This so called "invisible hand" can only even theoretically work when there's no MONOPOLIES! Since everything in the US is now essentially a monopoly, economics is essentially broken.
2
There's no such thing as the "free market". Somebody is always making the rules. In the case of the US it's the corporations. Robert Reich and others have written very convincingly about this.

The United Corporations of America will always choose profit over people.

Everything we can't immediately explain somehow we always jump to magic, gods or aliens. Have we made no intellectual progress in the last 1,000 years? It's good to see the skepticism at the end here.

@jakekennedy6718 But wages are being driven down. You must not be from the US. Also, I thought his theory was about the limitations of production of things like food having a limiting effect on population especially in regards to population density? (Although I haven't really researched it, his ideas were just briefly mentioned in a book I read so maybe I got it wrong?)

The US doesn't have or export democracy. We export terrorism and subjugation or death.
1
It's essentially the Squid Games. That's our economic system.

But Fox says it failed because the executives cared more about hiring a black guy and investing in sustainable climate companies than making money! (sarcasm)

The US is evil incarnate. #FreeAssange

Why not spend a little bit of that $1 trillion a year budget on... idk... better cameras? I think the military released this stuff in the way that they did in hopes of yet another budget increase and to provide yet another reason/distraction why they cannot account for trillions of dollars that somehow go missing.

Unemployment doesn't actually mean the number of people that don't have a job. It means specifically the number of people that are collecting unemployment checks. Just another form of deceitful data manipulation by the banking class (the FED).
1
And unemployment is caused by the Fed in order to crush workers and their wages to allow the owner class to gain more control. And that's according to the Fed themselves, at least the crushing workers part.

The biggest downsides to nuclear in the US are lack of investment and lack of regulation/enforcement to hold companies accountable and make sure they keep their dang facilities up to date and safe. As the recent train derailments have shown, companies will cut any corner and poison any number of people as long as they can make more money. All energy production should be nationalized to avoid the dangers of disaster capitalism.

Our entire economy is based on profit at all costs, people be damned.Just ask the economists and corporations themselves. As well as Reagan, Nixon, Milton Friedman, Bill Clinton, etc. All of the right-wing think tanks that have captured our government push this idea that only by giving companies the real freedom to pursue profits at any cost to lives can we have true freedom (I guess they mean freedom for kings and billionaires only but not the freedom for people to have breathable air or drinkable water).

Capitalism isn't the reason for progress in the world. You've been brainwashed.

That's a great clip to end with!

You get so much wrong in this video. Pharmacists, with the required knowledge, are not magically selected by pharmacy companies to match the correct amount of knowledge to the job. Those same companies would hire someone with no education and pay them minimum wage if they could get away with it. They are required to have that knowledge to work in their field because of regulations. Hence why pharmaceutical sales reps get paid insane wages while having no education in the field of drugs. Everything is as broken and corrupt as the lack of regulation allows it to be. You really buy into the whole magical myth sold by capitalists way too much.
1
Also why so many slave rings and child labor violations have been seen in the US lately. Companies will hire anyone for as little as possible, even at the expense of safety and the lives of the employee or consumer. People don't have time to investigate every supply chain and business practice of everything they buy and the fines these companies receive for breaking the law might as well just make it legal.
