  2. Seems like the party's strategy was to shock her and throw her off just before an interview in which the "reporter" was suspiciously well equipped with doctored quotes.

  4. To be fair she seemed pretty frazzled. Having a newborn and finding out you've been booted just before the interview certainly would have some shock value and throw you off your game. Probably exactly part of their strategy.
