"No person who works full time should live in poverty" .... well that's great except that most companies purposely don't hire full time employees specifically so they don't have to give them benefits and health insurance. It's much cheaper to hire two employees to work 20 hrs/week than to hire 1 employee to work 40 and pay them benefits, 401k, health insurance, etc. What a bitch.
