Watch any video about the creation of the Simpsons and Futurama, Matt Groening and the others constantly complained and put jokes into their shows about how the corporate execs tried to ruin everything. They literally sabotaged Futurama from the beginning. The whole complaint about PC/cancel culture is actually just a complaint about capitalism and corporate executives except that the people complaining the loudest don't understand that yet (and never will). The execs would rather have a milktoast show that's a bad investment than an actual good but ever so slightly risky show that people actually watch.
