yeah, our system is corrupt to the core.

🤣🤣 Good point, I can't remember a "self-made" story that didn't include those points. Most, like Elon, are using all points of that story to a T. It's just like propaganda at this point. "Oh yeah I was an immigrant with $5 and I did it......(oh yeah and my dad owned an emerald mine that used slave labor and sometimes I would sell the gems on the weekends for kicks but I swear that had nothing to do with my "success". )"

Concise and clearly put. Important stuff. This is what should be taught in economics in school!

If the wealthiest corporations in the world cannot afford to pay people a living wage then they do not deserve to exist because they obviously are not successful. Subsidies galore on top of subsistence wages, reducing benefits every year and now we need child tax credits too just to allow working families to actually survive! How dare you try to tax the richest people in the world by the tiniest bit!
9
@michaelanderson2881 So you are saying that people working 40 hours a week are just lazy if they don't have the time and money to go to college (with no guarantee of a job mind you, do you know anybody that's gotten the job they went to college for?). What if they have kids? How are they supposed to start a business while surviving and supporting their family? We are not obsessed with what other people make. We are angry because the wealthy get 30% raises every year and millions in bonuses for doing jack shit while we do all the work and earn such a low wage that we cannot even afford a place to live let alone a doctors appointment!!! Fucking moron.
7
@michaelanderson2881 You clearly know nothing of US Imperialism. How the US advances it's corporate agenda by stomping on the backs of slaves, indigenous populations and third world countries. Learn some history dude.
7
@artandarchitecture6399 Yeah cause everybody has so much money, that's why everyone lives paycheck to paycheck. And there are definitely no monopolies. Nope. Couldn't possibly be.
6
@Buy-DWAC Tell that to the growing wage/income disparity.... obviously you are telling fairy tale lies. Trump cut corporate taxes like 12% and i didn't see one article about corporations upping eveyones wages by 12%! Did you? It's actually the opposite, just look at the Frito Lay, Kellog and Coal miner protests around the US. Trump cut all their taxes and yet they are slashing pay and benefits for all. Fossil fuel companies are so privileged they can literally write off their ceo's farts as million dollar tax write off.
6
And my dad was just telling me that we shouldn't tax corporations or rich people because then how will they pay their workers!! Haha please help, it's really hard to live with people like this that vote to take away my ability to see a doctor when sick.
6
@tomf9292 yet they have way higher standard of living than the US. Wonder why? Maybe cause republican nonsense hasn't ruined them yet. People there also don't have to worry about going bankrupt if they get sick. (and literally everyone gets sick, that's called life). AND businesses don't have to pay for their employees healthcare! Win Win!
6
Don't forget that Chipotle only increase wages for minimum wage workers at like 3% of it's stores (only the corporate owned ones). So basically the CEO alone could have paid for the entirety of the wage increases with his new bonus and still had bonus left over.
5
And we all know companies never get the max penalty when breaking child labor laws. I read about the recent McDonalds violations where they had literal 12 year olds working until 2 AM and didn't even pay them. The average fine was like $300
5
@FletchforFreedom Everything you say is completely delusional. "Child labor laws don't eliminate child labor" .... yes... yes they do. Except for in places that don't have/enforce child labor laws which corporations take advantage of to exploit child labor. How is it possible to be so stupid? You are clearly a paid troll account.
4
@leovolont Sure it makes sense if you are immoral and agree with might makes right/ winner take all by any means necessary type selfish logic. But if we are just looking at reality and facts then..... nope. Sorry. That's not the way the world works.
4
2020 saw more money for the rich, more bailouts for the rich but what did the poor get..... loans from the rich that they have to pay back. Trump essentially put every small business out of business in 2020 by force while giving tax cuts and gift-wrapped billions to the oligarchy.
3
@Zach-ju5vi Nope. Name one election that a Republican won that Republicans are also contesting or saying was fraud.
3
@MelMelMelDrMEL Increasing profits doesn't increase profits? Okay Mr. I-so-smart.
3
Your videos are excellent at explaining these topics in a simple digestible way.
2
so they make an investment into a company to increase the share price while getting to deduct their investment and also reap the benefits of the increase in share price while we, the taxpayers, get to pay for their original investment by negating their taxable income by the same amount..... Sounds about right. Socialism for the rich, capitalism for the poor.
2
So the richest 59 people now own more than 50% of the US wealth and still the top 1% only pay 37% of the income taxes? These numbers don't add up. At the very least they should be paying 50% of all taxes but since most of them get to claim they make $0 a year it's no wonder.
2
@Zach-ju5vi Capitalism is the nobility getting richer while the rest get poorer. You have very strange beliefs. You must be Bezo's nephew or something.
2
False Equivalence, projection and outrage politics etc. are the Right's specialty. Pretty much anything except doing their actual jobs and helping the US citizens they are supposed to represent. Also, there is no Left anymore. Just a center and a galaxy far far away... to the right.
2
Thanks for the history lesson. Keep up the important work!
2
It's no surprise considering bankers control the way the economy is measured.
2
@KevinThomas-ok2ev No they don't. Keynesian economics literally built the world while Free Market nonsense has been a disaster everywhere. ie the current crisis, the asian financial crisis, the great recession, all the shock therapy programs. Endless financial crisis etc. etc.
2
We literally refer to the Keynesian period as the golden era of economic growth.
2
Keep up the good work!
2
Most Chipotle stores didn't raise wages. Only about 3% (the corporate owned ones) and then only for minimum wage workers.
2
How dare the peasants want a few pennies for their hard work!
2
@Zach-ju5vi The problem is that when the bank collapses we the taxpayer will have to foot the bill to bail them out. Even if our personal money is guaranteed up to 250k, we have a banking system called fractional reserve banking which means that even if every deposit was 250k or less, 90% of the banks assets would still not be covered by FDIC.
2
@aef You are seriously saying insulin prices are not profiteering?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?! US pays over 10x more than anywhere else in the world! That's the definition of price gouging considering there's only 3 companies with rights to produce insulin in the entire world.
2
Why don't they just send all the jobs overseas like they usually do? Oh, wait. They already did/are doing that and now it's fucking the whole world in the ass. Hey, the least we can do is return the favor right by not putting up with their crumbs right?
2
Absolutely! They pay us like peasants and then frame the narrative as if we are lazy for not putting up with their crumbs while they give themselves 160% raises every year.
2
Yes, ranked choice voting would have a significant positive impact. That's probably why it'll never happen.
2
@DavidAdkins78 Oh gee, you put up such good arguments. "Marxist fraud" you mean he's only pretending to be a Marxist? God you are dumb.
2
Capitalism is the ultimate pyramid scheme.
2
@davespanksalot8413 interesting, that does explain Fox always pushing fear and boogeymen so that Republicans can vote for fascism.
2
Raising interest rates also crushes small businesses concentrating more power at the top and allows wall street to buy up competitors for pennies on the dollar.
2
But you wouldn't want to make Charlie Munger cry again would you? After all, he's only got $50 billion dollars. The poor man just wants to catch a break.
1
US healthcare is disgusting. Healthcare should be a right.
1
Well said!
1
Yes.... no company has ever in history price gouged consumers...
1
Well said!
1
Absolutely!
1
Yeah, they gotta go.
1
The more I learn about Clinton the more I think he's actually Reagan in a trenchcoat here to continue his destruction of the earth. (Both socially and economically)
1
All of the above please.
1
Dang, great video as always!
1
Yeah, the FED's job is to crush workers and help bankers retain or increase their power. Powell literally admitted to congress that rate hikes would not curb inflation and that his only goal was to put people out of work.
1
Agreed! Keep up the good work!
