This was the exact same narrative the slaveowners sewed about the slaves. "They are lazy and dumb and we are benevolent for governing them and giving them work." and "they should see our financial gain as their gain as well." (Meaning the slaves should take pride in making their masters wealthy.) These conservatives are so dumb. They do realize poor people don't have the money to move all around the country right? And ain't nobody ever moving to a state just to get unemployment or something. That's not how anything works. Do they think people are just given the national median wage to sit at home? I've been on food stamps and unemployment before. That don't pay for shit. You'd be lucky to afford rent in a studio apt. Conservatives think that's the "good life". Well, if it's so good why don't they do it and stop complaining.
