Yeah and 99% of online courses are scams anyways. Everyone and their mother is selling coding bootcamp or some other type of job skill courses online now.

I wonder if they are using those resumes for other purposes too? Like perhaps selling the data on them? Or just trying to figure out ways to make the hiring process more torturous to further depress workers.

@haihengh If they want to reject you because of age they'll just not hire or find something else. They don't have to tell you it's because of age and nobody will ever know. Therefore they really can use age and criminal history. Background checks contain criminal history, if you think they are not going to use any of that info you are too naive.

The lady from ZipRecruiter has a permanent smile on her face while telling you you'll never get a job unless you work for free. Accurate. I feel like these job sites have greatly facilitated the enshitification of finding a job in the last 10-15 years.

Exactly, it's just a new form of gatekeeping based on experience and who you know laundered under the guise of more equal opportunity for all. Always shift the goalposts to hinder workers and claim they are the problem and the poor corporations just can't find good workers. And a way to invalidate all the people with massive student loan debt as a "you" problem. They pretend everyone has masters degrees in theater with minor in gender studies.
