Handguns on private property are one thing but this whole "every american should have an ak47 for self-defence" bullshit is just nonsensical. Nobody is perfect and everybody has major things to work on in life. Look at Gandhi. He certainly didn't have his life in order and yet he helped to liberate an entire country from the harsh rule of an empire. Martin Luther King Jr. didn't have his life in order when he was thrust into the limelight as the biggest activist of the civil rights movement. In fact, he wasn't particularly keen on being the leader at all until he realized that if he didn't do it nobody else was going to either. And there are nearly infinite examples of people with problems helping others. You are quite literally implying that people cannot think for themselves and also have the same ideas as others. And protests are almost always used as a way to get someone to actually accept personal responsibility for their actions. Take the Floyd death. The protests were a way to say "hey these individual cops are responsible for publicly executing a black man just for being black". It doesn't have to be a single individual taking responsibility. It could be a group or an organization or even as broad as an ideology like protesting against neo-nazis.
