Ford found that by paying his employees 2 times the wages of competitors (about double for the lower workers at the time working at ford) his business was actually more profitable because people gave a shit about doing their job and he didn't have to train a new person for the same job every couple weeks. Company loyalty, creativity and productivity go up and magically your company does better. I always used to hear about how cool working at Google was because they paid good and encouraged employees loyalty and creativity and look at them now. Although I assume there wont be manufacturing or driving jobs anymore within the next 50 years.
