  1. 4catmom14: criminal law is based on circumstances. One size does not fit all. Murder is defined differently than manslaughter, and it matters. These distinctions in law are NOT excuses. We are NOT disputing that a homicide occurred....so calm down and think rationally about our justice system. For example a drunk driver that kills another driver is NOT charged with murder, but with negligent homicide. Does that mean there is no punishment? No. Details actually matter as to the charges and tge punishment. We must not consider all killings of others are the same. A woman that hires an assassin to kill her husband is very different that a death from a drunken bar brawl. Both victims are dead. Yes. But.... Circumstances determines the charge.
