  1. The problem with "grey morality" is that it is really weak. In LOTR you had such a strong theme and strong morality. The orcs, oh they were really bad. And they KNEW it! The orcs LOVED doing bad things. That is what they were BRED for. Changing that to "grey" morality means they have no real drive anymore. And the drive to stop them means nothing too.

  2. Modern DnD is going NOWHERE. The players that didn't mind some modern changes to make the game smoother to play, are not going to let WOTC play "erase old culture" The current IP owners might soon find out few to no one stays around to play their NEW version.
