  1. Not to mention the lack of local Commercial areas... You can't put a flower shop, small food store or so on in an R1 zone. So every american has to drive a car. Yes EVERY american has to drive a car... While in Europe, japan and other places you can survive on a bike, moped and so on due to having shops quite spread out in cities. You don't require a car in Europe! In america you require one!

  2. I lived in one of those buildings in my country, no we didn't divide by skin color, more by resources. How much money you have/had. And boy is it fun to have 200+ neighbors. NOT! There is simply way to make that work. Those buildings are the worst! Not only don't you know your neighbors. You also have to deal with hearing all the sounds in the building, all of them, ALL OF THEM! Oh someone is moving and drilling in a concrete wall using a WOOD DRILL, how delightful! It is in short, dehumanizing! We should not live in shoe boxes like that.
