So housing, roads, and other things don't have as much earthquake proofing as one hopes for. Unless they are super important buildings they don't seem to get the required attention. How is going to be solved. ... Having a problem is one thing, a solution is another. Are they going to build houses quick and dirty again, will it be one of those "it is fine till next big earthquake?" Will they really be strong with the regulations and then have complaints not enough houses and buildings can be build? One huge issue when it comes to making a lot of houses is that regulations slow down. And rebuilding usually is done very quickly. The question, can this problem be solved both? By mostly prefab housing with earthquakes in mind? Hey I don't know, I just know quick and dirty as is done usual means crumbly and unsafe too.
