  1. So in colder areas, think alaska this very optimal running engine system would require pre-heaters. Just to get the engine up to heat before it is efficient enough. Alaska can get very cold. The sahara can get very hot. Heat managment seems to be a hurdle there. But seeing how mazda hasn't lowered its engine sizes instead changed the compression ratios and it works.
