  1. He feels himself very safe because his connections, connections with the SEC who know that it isn't kosher but look another way, connections with other powerful people. The political groups and people he supported. He feels that sure FTX is bankrupt but he wont' go to jail, his connections will keep him out. Unless of course even those connections might lose their job and some might go to jail over this too. Whoops.
