Interresting, makes sense,
In certain industries, they could re-use lesser parts. Processors, for instance, are binned, depending on how well it handles higher speeds they can be clocked during a later process. Or, if the cache has issues, they can block off a whole section of the cache and sell it as a lesser model. It doesn't hurt anyone in the end, cheaper parts for cheaper pc's. Great deal.
But guns? Yeah, I want a gun to be 100% accurate. Yes please! With an explosion less then an inch away from my fingers YES PLEASE.
Makes is quite expensive, reminds me a bit about space technology. Same rules apply there, it has to be 100% right or they can't use it. Soo... expensive, throwing away a lot of non 100% parts.
