Meditation is probably the most basic way you can do that. It doesn't have to be about anything with the Occult or not. Meditation is one of the best things you can do for yourself just in general. Including as far as getting to know one's self better.

What good would an oath to yourself do? Isn't that not the same thing as basically praying for something and then having it come true in one form or another? I am just curious is all, if you have the answers or a direction to go in then maybe you can help me out.

Maybe one extra key word or something to spare me from the many many thousands of irrelevant other "initiations". Not trying to join a fraternity or a sorority or a street gang or anything here. Just give me a clue if for anything curiosity's sake. If it's a deal with one's self who really initiates who?

I regard any other one organization with suspicion as well which is why I asked in the first place, which one you chose if any and why. If it is an independent thing then do you receive instructions via meditation? or what?

You didn't even reveal anything though. Not really, anyway. Certainly not who "initiated" you, which completely goes against the idea of spirituality being a personal journey. You can be a card-carrying self-aware person now, too? I really don't see the harm in telling us who initiated you, you clearly found them, probably in the back of some phonebook or something, so if you can find it I probably could too. Assuming it even really exists.

I guess, I have no idea. I have to agree though, Crowley seems sketchy as hell. A bloody genius, sure, but even based on the stuff about him that wasn't just rumor, but was actually proven, I mean, if there is any equivalent of Hell or purgatory in existence and he managed to not go there, then I have to wonder who would. Inb4 enlil has the cosmic answer for the afterlife or something as well, now, too. LOL I really do hope that Crowley didn't actually engage in some of those things that were mentioned about him. I think it's interesting to compare him to Hindu but the fact of the matter is some of those things are evil for a reason. To force yourself to indulge in it and learn to like it, that's just terrifying to me as a prospect. Learning to enjoy sacrificing children. Disgusting...

Yeah, that's apparently a dude, though. If you looked at their channel. You're mistaking defensiveness with skepticism. I have no idea as far as whether we are one or not as a human race. I know we're not all equal, but the distinction isn't in race or anything like that. I am not sure what it is. Lastly I read that a lot of what Crowley wrote was actually sarcasm. This is what a lot of his proponents will say when bringing up the debauchery and, if true, crimes against humanity he possibly committed. Some of the darkest things he described in his books are stomach turning, but again, a lot of people dismissed it as it just simply being writing. I for one am not that sure.

I had no idea Savile was connected to Crowley in any way shape or form, least of all as a follower or student. I agree with you completely by the way, I mean if doing "what thou wilt" includes something that brings about pain and suffering to someone else, anyone else, anyone or anything belonging to God's creation, then that is necessarily evil. It's not always so black and white but I guess if anything one thing I believe in to a certain extent is Karma. I just wish I knew what really happened in the afterlife and which religion would be the correct one, if only just to protect myself from malignant forces in the universe. I don't need that in my life...

+The Cocktail Critic Maybe. I am just saying though that if the reports and/or rumors are true, behind closed doors Aleister Crowley may or may not have done some truly despicable things. In his case, what he may have wanted to do simply was as enlil mentioned before, anything that may have disgusted him prior to that... There's a documentary on Crowley on YouTube called "The Wickedest Man in the World" and I think it's very fair to him, but also explains some of the things of lesser repute that he allegedly did as well. It also mentions a 6-month long intensive ritual that he actually bought a mansion exclusively for was abandoned halfway through, which some people say is what drove him crazy or whatever. I really pray that some of the things they say he did never happened though. +enlil I would be curious to know about his connection to the occult, that I wasn't aware of. To hear about the crimes he was accused of though, which was primarily after his death (although people turned a blind eye to it for decades apparently, most especially at BBC) absolutely made me sick. It's actually revolting. And the entire time he had this friendly disposition but beneath it was an extremely methodical and evil person. EDIT: Savile, that is.

Daaaamn I didn't know Jimmy Page bought that house. I knew he was big into the occult, though. But yeah that documentary I mentioned goes into that. And they say it shouldn't basically be done by anybody, anywhere. And yet he did. I live somewhere in the southern United States. Where are you from, my friend?
