Applebee's has always been an evil company. Same with Outback Steakhouse. I worked at an Outback restaurant for like a week. They hired me to be a bus boy initially and the idea in my mind was I was going to just work for a year or two and get restaurant experience so I could then go apply at better restaurants while I finished college and make better money. I was horrified not just at the stuff they expected me to do as a lowly bus boy, but the waiters and waitresses were expected to not just manage their tables but also do other things like sweep, clean up after the cooks, etc. while they made "waiter/waitress" wages at like $2.13 an hour at the time. The reason they were paid this way is because they were expected to make the rest of it in tips and this was their justification in paying them so horrendously. AND they were expected to do all of these other tasks that had nothing to do with waiting tables. Sometimes they got no tips at all, aka they got stiffed, so the whole "oh you'll make up the lack of wages in tips" argument is completely and totally ridiculous and you cannot depend on it. It's backbreaking work with other backbreaking work for obscene pay on top of it. I was working as a delivery driver for Pizza Hut prior to that, making minimum wage plus a delivery bonus per delivery and then tips and I said fuck this noise and went back and got my job with them instead. No, I never got waiter/waitress experience so I couldn't get a better job at a better restaurant after, but at the same time I didn't even care. It was a college job to begin with and I wasn't planning on doing that the rest of my life anyway. But it did break my heart seeing these people who had families and were in their 40's working at these shithole places and having to worry every single day about the money they made there because it all comes down to tips. ALWAYS tip your waiters and waitresses at restaurants. Chances are quite good they're being paid the same and frankly that should be illegal if you ask me.

This is the problem with a lot of liberals. Not all of them, for an absolute fact, but many of them for sure. A lot of the people who are Democrat right now just hate Trump, and you can try to get them to posit specific points and reasons for why, but many of them devolve down to emotional appeals like "Oh, well he's a jerk!" "He's a bully!" "He's a racist!" "He's putting those children at the border in cages and forcibly separating their parents from them! I'm pretty sure!" moreso than any conservative forms their opinions (although they do it too to a certain extent) liberals root their opinions with emotional anchor points.

Yep. As long as lobbying is present and legal, corporate interests will always basically get whatever they want while politicians depending on their level of corruptness “supplement” their government income with untold hundreds of thousands if not millions of extra dollars a year IF they kowtow to corporate and lobbying interests. And many of them, if not most of them, do.

Oh my fucking God I can't STAND Lawrence O'Donnell. Can't stand him, to me I would put his face next to the definition of "Shit-eating Grin" at the very least in the Urban Dictionary. He's always got this "gotcha face" even when he's spouting complete and utter bullshit. Oh well, he built some desks for some kids in Africa though and he reminds you of that what feels like every single time he's on TV. I don't watch MSNBC, my wife does, but I'm constantly overhearing things like "Why does anybody listen to this shit at all?"

Trump 2020 then for sure if this happens. Basically it's almost guaranteed anyway for a lot of reasons some now more serious and more emergent than others but if you really have a bunch of the salty Bernie fans who are like "Never-Biden" more than they're "Never-Trump" then you deserve to lose, frankly. I think the Democratic Party has an identity crisis, badly. You have the establishment which is of course what Biden is going to be, a safe, familiar, establishment candidate. Then you have the new school of people in the Democratic party, namely AOC who I would consider actually kicking out of the Democratic party for all the friction she's caused single-handedly in her own party. She basically bullied Nancy Pelosi (of all people) into pursuing impeachment anyway who resisted it knowing that it was a waste of time, and then turns around and continues to insult her anyway. She's a troublemaker and she's essentially in the middle of creating her own movement and her own party anyway, it's just so far been at the complete detriment of the Democratic Party itself.

Afghanistan will be like "Uhhhh ... do you take goats as payment? No? Fuck, what about heroin?"

Well I am pretty sure they go through metal detectors going in there so the gun thing wouldn't happen unless they stormed the security gates and killed them all then barged inside to kill as many privileged celebrities as possible but your point is still valid. I think the biggest thing is they had no idea it really happened and wasn't a planned gag or skit until it was too late. He should've been removed as soon as Chris Rock was backstage and was like "Yeah it actually happened".

One thing that annoys me about Bill Maher is he never, ever hesitates to remind people that a) he’s a huge pothead and b) he’s a former drug dealer. As if it gives him some bad boy clout or something. First off, we know. Second, nobody gives a fuck.
