The truth is like... yes what they did research wise was usually pretty terrible if not completely unforgivable and unethical but there were quite a few medical advancements that were gotten as a result of the research and nobody seems to ever want to admit that. Was it worth it? No. What they did was truly awful. But there were medical advancements made that we still take advantage of today. But for the most part the research was just almost seemingly designed and performed for the express purpose of cruelty and pain.
