Yeah basically at this point people need to look at it not as a moral issue but as a health issue. That, and an economic one. It's a waste of money, it's ruining people's lives, and if they're worried that if they legalized every drug that their kids and grandkids would immediately rush out and become heroin addicts, they won't. I think a lot of addicts are addicted not just to the drugs they use but the subculture that illegality has created around it, to such an extent addicts literally do kind of live secret lives where they're forced to lie, in some cases steal, and live in the darkness. They're like a coven of vampires or something, they may have nothing in common otherwise but they each need their fix at least once but preferably twice a day, like vampires would probably feel about the blood they need to drink to survive. Heroin addicts in particular need medical attention, not handcuffs. The rates of overdose/death and the transmission of diseases like Hep-C and HIV/AIDS would actually drop. Portugal, for instance, basically decriminalized all drugs to such an extent it may as well be legal and ironically the rates of usage dropped.

@surgeon0fdeath237 Yeah. Prison does serve a purpose in society and certain people do belong there, but in my opinion if you're just there because you had drugs on you -- you don't belong there. If you did something violent either while on the drugs OR in connection to the drugs, like you're a dealer or something, then you should go to prison. But users themselves? No. Prison does not rehabilitate people whatsoever. If anything, it takes a shitty to average criminal and thrusts them into an intensive program that if anything will actually make them BETTER criminals. Tougher, and more cold as well. And the idea that we're throwing non-violent offenders into the same mix with violent ones is one of the biggest flaws with and most harmful things about the drug war and just how much damage it is doing.

@203-g7w Most heroin addicts don't start on heroin. And they also don't start with needles for the most part, it's a long slippery slope. If you really were addicted yourself, you would know. It's fine, you don't have to be compassionate as long as you admit that you are uncompassionate. Why do you feel the need to do this shit though? ........ How do you determine how many periods are sufficient to really hammer home the non-points you're trying to make? It makes you look like a moron, no offense.

@ingevonschneider5100 The fact is people are gonna use drugs whether they're illegal or not. There is strong statistical evidence that shows that all of the negative side effects up to and including incarceration for victimless crimes with life-long lasting effects all the way to diseases being contracted unnecessarily due to illegality (heroin users in some states being forced to re-use needles and worse, share them just because they are desperate) will be at the least mitigated by decriminalization. I am not even arguing for full legalization even though I think that is the best solution to this problem, but at the very least decriminalize it for everyone but dealers. That would literally cut the prison population in half basically overnight. Beyond that, I would expunge and forgive all non-violent drug offenses immediately. It's an unwinnable war and it's pointless. We have more important things we need to be fighting, like the solicitation and trafficking of humans, in particular children. They need to be out fighting actual crime and catching actual criminals, not sending addicts through the revolving door of use, jail, use, jail.

@surgeon0fdeath237 Which is sad, man. I am sorry you had to go through all of that just for some dope. Look, I used to be an addict too. Classic story, got hooked on the Oxy's and then everybody basically switched to heroin around the same time, 2010/2011 when they outlawed the original Oxy formula. Never in a million years did I think I'd ever use a needle in my life until I finally saw all my old pill addict friends gradually going to it themselves. One night after a particularly bad break up I said fuck it man shoot me up. It wasn't long before I learned how to do it myself. And I have never felt so low as when I did when I was coming off of that, and I didn't even really get that deep into it because I couldn't afford it and I am not the type to steal. One night I was driving back to my college dorms from my drug dealer's house, and I had two oxy 80's on me plus I think an eighth of weed in my trunk. I accidentally pulled down the wrong one way street and a cop pulls me over. At this point I am high as hell, not just on weed but the pills too and during the stop I am just like freaking out because if he found the pills I was going to prison. He must have seen the sticker on the back of my car that indicated I was a college kid and he may have even assumed I was high on weed at most and simply let me go. I was so close to going to jail, it never even occurred to me to try to swallow both of them but nowadays that's exactly what I would do. If I still was doing that shit at all.

I understand they can't show him synthesizing it, especially step by step, but can you at least show something along the lines of how he can take tree bark and then turn it into MDMA? I'd like to at least see the final product anyway. No I have no interest in doing it myself, but I just can't imagine that it'd be a very effective way of manufacturing drugs even for personal use.

Dude that ... girl, I guess, to be polite, it's teeth looked like their orthodontist would find it funny to make their braces in the :-/ position or something cause that's the way their teeth formed clearly Also the "traumatised dog" lol the Chihuaha, those dogs are always shaking, mainly cause they have fast metabolisms and short fur and are frequently cold, from what I found out.

@myredfast Again, I am not trying to do it myself or anything. I just wanted to see what he meant exactly by way of a final product and MDMA for example. My guess is whatever it is is finished in a powder form. And to get enough to make a tablet, idk, that's the other thing. @myredfast When someone says "You're on a list" that normally gets eye-rolls out of me, first off, we're all on at least one list somewhere. That's kind of what I was getting at is first off, you're not just gonna take the bark off the tree and eat it or whatever as this tool before you suggested, saying that nothing transformative was done with it blah blah blah, but ultimately yes it sounds to me like it'd evaporate one way or another leaving only a powder which must then be pressed one way or another -- pill presses came to mind. And yeah those are incredibly expensive. Again, I have no interest in actually doing it myself and I am not even interested in chemistry let alone interested in drugs enough to oversee the fact that I hated chemistry in school. It's just interesting to me to see what people can take from nature and turn into something else entirely, even while understanding that step by step can't and shouldn't be shown. But yeah this guy thinks he's Bill Nye the science guy, he's honestly more in line with a cantankerous, smelly vagina wart than that, IMHO.

Every human being deserves respect, even the hoes. I don't solicit prostitutes either but I also know enough to know that making it illegal isn't doing jack shit to stop it. It's almost like the drug war, you can make it illegal but that will never stop the fact that drugs are consumed, if anything it just makes said drugs artificially expensive for people to buy.
